If you’ve driven by 1750 W. Sixth Street in Corona over the past several months, you might have noticed a dilapidated commercial/retail building sitting vacant. What many people don’t know about commercial unit is that it has been vandalized, and broken into multiple times over the past months due to being an easy target for vandals and the homeless. Adjacent business have suffered from the eyesore and have desired a tenant for the building for some time now. The good news for Corona, and the owner of the property on west Sixth Street (at Paseo Grande), is that Harbor Freight Tools is coming to town! Harbor Freight Tools has negotiated a lease for the property and will begin preparing the property for the grand opening of the first Harbor Freight tools in Corona, California (thanks to Google Maps for the aerial view).
This is good news for a few reasons…
1. As you may already know, the Corona real estate market is moving ahead as if there was no recession. Prices have risen incredibly over the past several months and the market is looking strong. Commercial real estate on the other hand, is still struggling and many commercial complexes have staggering vacancy rates in Corona. Harbor Freight moving into Corona is one step in the right direction.
2. Harbor Freight will bring jobs and revenue to Corona. Increasing the funds the city has to use for the benefit of the residents here through income avenues such as business licensing fees, business taxes, and sales taxes.
3. Corona residents will have another provider of tools and related items. More competition means better deals, and who doesn’t want more choices and better deals? Harbor Freight is known to have some terrific deals on all types of tools and related work and home related items. Watch your mailbox for their circulars (advertisements).
Maybe I’ll see you there soon!
